Town by the sea

by Fotis Papadogeorgopoulos

The photos here were shot on medium format film (primarily Ilford HP5+), and developed at home. In winter 2024, I am printing most of these on fibre paper in the darkroom. I am also exploring different print methods for them, such as riso printing.

A person sitting by themself on a strip of beach after sunset. The beach leading up to them is darker, while the sea in front is lit, perhaps dimly, by the remainders of the sunlight. The person seems to be thinking and gazing. A tiny wave is about to crash at their feet.

Two people sitting on portable chairs at the beach, near sunset. They seem to be talking with each other. On the left of the frame, a lifeguard post. In the distance, a blurry person is swimming. There is a visual path leading from the foreground of the frame to the water.
